Container Math for Christmas Trees: 40HQ, MOQ and FOB Explained

Trees are light-bulk cargo: the money is in volume, not weight. A 40HQ filled with boxed trees often weighs less than a container of ceramics. That has three practical consequences for buyers.

1. Volume decides your landed cost

Freight quotes are per container, so cost per tree drops as you approach full utilization. Hinged trees pack flat and dense; our carton dimensions per SKU are optimised so a mixed 40HQ regularly hits 90%+ utilization.

2. Mix freely inside one container

Standard practice: one 40HQ mixes tree series, wreaths, garlands and table-top items. We help plan the mix so you still get series pricing breaks while filling the box.

3. Lead times work backwards from the ships

Production 30-45 days + booking window. For EU/US shelves, purchase orders are placed in spring and production slots for July-September fill fast - the Christmas logistics crunch is real, and factories allocate capacity to first-movers.
